Quick check

    Case without cracks, all keycaps present, cable intact (if wired).

    The system recognizes the device, no errors in Device Manager.

  1. Extra keys

    Test media buttons, the volume wheel and macro keys.

  2. Wireless connection

    If wireless — check connection stability over Bluetooth and the USB receiver.

  3. Key feel

    Keys must not stick, must press with equal effort, no wobble on Space and Enter.

Full check

10–15 minutes

  1. Typing stress test

    Type fast or use a typing trainer: no missed or double presses.

  2. NKRO / Anti-Ghosting

    Check simultaneous pressing of several keys in special online tests or games.

  3. Software

    If there is software — set macros, remap keys, check that settings save to the device memory.

  4. Built-in ports

    If present — test the USB hub or audio jack on the keyboard.

How to test tech before buying

Many tests can be done right in the browser using our online tools (keyboard test, monitor dead pixel test, mouse and trackpad test), while the rest use standard or free programs.
